What the tilework knew

Regional geometry was never only decoration. Pulled apart, it turns out to be a structure to argue with.

The eight-point star and its endless tessellation can be mistaken for ornament. The artists taking it apart know better: it is a logic, and logics can be broken to be understood.

Reassembled wrong on purpose, the pattern reveals its rules. The decoration was a proof all along.
